Liebster Award

First of all, I would like to thank Novus Lectio who kindly nominated This Door is Alarmed for this award. She is a very well read writer, with a history of first class posts. She presents a nimbly versatile blog, including but not limited to the tranquil nemesis of enquiry in her ‘inspiring’ snapshots, images demonstrating her unique style as an artist, and wonderful real-life stories. Check out her blog here!

The rules are:

  1. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you and display the award logo.
  2. Answer 11 questions that the blogger sets you.
  3. Nominate blogs that you think are deserving of the award.
  4. Create 11 questions for your nominees to answer.
  5. Let your nominees know about their nomination!

Novus Lectio’s Questions:

Finnish the sentence “happiness is….”? As languages fascinate me, I saw this question to mean something else entirely. The typo additional ‘n’ in the word ‘Finnish’, plus the capitalisation for the start of the sentence, causes the word Finnish to refer to the language of Finland, so I have ‘Finnished’ the sentence by translating it: suomalainen lause … onni on.

If you could change your name what would it be? My name originates in the name of the first book I truly fell in love with She by H. Rider Haggard. It was a powerful first love for a book from a tender pre-decade age, so, I guess my answer would be, I couldn’t change my name 🙂

How do you like your eggs cooked? Without Salmonella, and otherwise, caprice takes the moment.

Would you like to live 27 000 BC? I am not as well read as I would like to be on human history, although I did learn Anglo Saxon at one point in my life (which is much later than 27,000BC), and surprisingly, it has been handy since—in specific spheres. My answer would be: would love to visit, would hate to stay. The internet has created a comely existence for introverts such as myself, and being without it would be paramount to actioning my answer in question 8.

Mayo or Ketchup? Ketchup.

If the world was to end in 24h what would you do? A hugely complex question, leading into a minefield of ifs and buts I have never felt the need to strategize. Every contemplation on the matter leads me into whitewash. I like to think I would bullet point the end of my blog story, before cuddling up with loved ones and beloved feline friends to enjoy what was left. Wow, dark…

Thriller or Adventure movies? I have never been drawn to the white-knuckle smokescreen that is thriller movies, most of all they draw macabre nightmares into potential existence, which is not welcome in the huggy-go-happy world of She. Therefore, adventure, if given the choice, would be my answer.

If you can chose your death, would you rather drown, shot, or frozen? I would climb Everest and make camp in the death zone to be eternally preserved. I would take an ironing board and carry out some extreme ironing near expiry, just for the giggle-factor (plus, it might be handy for the crevasses!)

Do you believe in UFO?  An issue of great controversy. I will remain on the tightrope, a UFO-agnostic, if you like, until I have reason to believe otherwise.

If you’ve ever kidnapped by aliens, will you tell the world? Absolutely! The story would face a scepticism impasse, and no doubt a hoard of conspiracy theorists, but if nothing else, at least it would make excellent fiction.

How hateful is hate? The word hate seems to be found ubiquitously, but I do not think it is an absolute. You do not either hate or love, there is an infinite scale, in my opinion. I do not use the word often for this ambiguous quality, so I suppose, my answer would be—it is subjective.

These are my questions for my nominees:

  1. What is your favourite thing beginning with the letter ‘s’?
  2. What is your quirk?
  3. Of the blogs you follow, which is your favourite and why (please leave a reference to their site)?
  4. What five things do you hope to accomplish in the next five years?
  5. If I was reading a book, with you as the main character, how would the author describe you?
  6. What do you wish you could change about yourself?
  7. Which one famous person (real or fictional) would you like to meet and what would say or ask?
  8. If you could have a super-power, what would it be?
  9. What are you most proud of?
  10. What is one key thing blogging has taught you?
  11. What question do you wish I had asked you and what is the answer?

  2. Hey
Thank you for taking the time to step on over to Love Relaished Ink. It’s wonderful to have your whimsical soul as a new companion on my long and winding road.
From what I have seen of your blog so far, I’ve no doubt you are already finding writing a totally engaging and personally fulfilling experience. I hope the pleasurable company of words will always flow and follow you as you flow following the flow of your flowing path flowing into the wide blue yonder, and flow onwards towards the adventures that follow the flow beyond that…
Best wishes. Take care always in all ways for always.
    Namaste

    1. What a fun comment. How thoughtful and kind! I have found WP is a great place to find like-minded individuals and make new friends. I have followed you, and look forward to reading more of your stories when work does not tug annoyingly at my arm like a poorly behaved dog.

Thank you for checking out my site, that means the world. I really appreciate it!

      1. So sorry, I cannot put any identifying info on this blog, but I am happy to answer anything else. I can say that part of what I do involves working with information (more interesting than it sounds) 🙂

What do you do? (If you can answer that question?)

It is nice to find another blogger who writes story content. Are you published?

      2. I see you say you like travelling! So do I!!! I am a huge fan of wandering the globe; there is nothing more fulfilling than immersing yourself in another culture and place. Where have you visited in the world?

I guess from your about me section that you are from India. I spent some time there last summer. Incredible country with the richest of cultures. I was in Varanasi at a wonderful time: the streets were heaving with men in orange dress, many who had walked hundreds of miles from their home towns. The people gathered by the river Ganga in what seemed like thousands, but all fell deadly silent as words as a ceremony marking the end of the pilgrimmage began. An incredible experience I will never forget. Ineffible.

      3. There is certainly a peace to be found in Varanasi. It feels intrinsically holy and sacred. I know exactly what you mean. Where else are you planning to visit?

      4. Ooh, awesome. Europe is wonderful! How exciting 😁 If you have any questions on where to go, I have been to most countries, and know some very well. Happy to help if it useful! I am so excited for you 😁

      5. Well Rome and Pompeii in Italy are a good start. Venice is somewhere you can’t miss if in Italy, and probably Florence.

Historically, it is sad but important to visit some of the former concentration camps; I’ve been to Auschwitz and Berkenau. Both pretty close to one another in Poland.

Some great cities worth visiting (apart from Rome) include Budapest in Hungary, Prague in Czech Republic, Paris, London, Granada (Alhambra Palaces), Amsterdam (there is a lot more there than what it has gained fame for).

Great places to see nature are Switzerland (practically anywhere, expect crystal clear waters and staggering vistas. Best to hire a car to view this country properly), Austria, Croatia’s Plitvice lakes, and Scotland is a must-see. I also think Germany is very pretty, as is Scandinavia, especially I think, in winter!

Off the top of my my mind, I think those are some of the best highlights. If you want any further info or advice, please get in touch!

      6. I am afraid, as I said, I cannot 😦 I can tell you I am not from India. I suppose although I was born in one country, I travel so much that sometimes I lose track of where is home, which can be odd. 🙂 I can answer almost any other question though.
