Friendship Award

A huge thanks to Novus Lectio who nominated me for this award. She is a new friend, and a published writer with an investigative streak of which I am hugely respectful. She is also the creator of this award (quedos!)

This award is given for those we cherish in WP, to show them affection and to offer them our friendship.

Too many sites across the digital domain seem to decline into savage schoolyards where spineless sharp-tongued individuals cower slyly behind a hood of anonymity and send malicious thorn-clad comments. WordPress has kept its head a storey above the clouds. To me—and no doubt many—it is a safe-haven and nursery for developing creativity, it is a blossoming community of mutual support and thoughtfulness, it is a refuge for the reticent where excellent friendships may be forged and nurtured.

Too many times to count, I arbitrarily stumble through the wild brush of WordPress to find a fresh site to read. I enjoy a jackpot of new writings, I leave some comments, only to find, several hours later, I have enjoyed an in-depth conversation with a person from India or Nepal or Africa or America or wherever it may be.

Please know that I appreciate this, and cherish it. I have only been a part of this incredible community since February, but now it feels like home. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of that and thank you for the HUGE support you have provided for me and everyone else in their writing. It means an awful lot!
